SMS Consent Information

How consent is obtained

A participating healthcare organization obtains consent directly through its approved verbal, written, electronic, enrollment, or other process. Consent methods may differ by organization and messaging program.

An authorized organization user may document in Burse that consent was previously obtained. That action records the consent status supplied by the organization; it does not mean this website or The Numeracy Group independently obtained consent from the recipient.

Burse uses the consent status supplied or documented by the participating healthcare organization to determine whether SMS messaging is enabled for the applicable recipient and mobile number.

Consent applies to the healthcare organization, messaging program, purpose, and mobile number described when it is obtained. It should not be assumed to transfer to another organization, a different messaging program or purpose, or a replacement mobile number.

Your choice and preferences

Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of receiving healthcare services unless separately permitted and clearly disclosed under applicable requirements.

You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP or by using another reasonable method communicated to the healthcare organization. Contact that organization with questions about the original consent record, enrollment, a replacement mobile number, or renewed consent.
