SMS-specific terms

SMS Messaging Terms

These terms apply only to healthcare-related SMS messaging supported by Burse. They are not general website terms and visiting this website does not enroll you in SMS messaging.

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Participation and message content

Participation occurs through an approved consent process offered by the participating healthcare organization, not by visiting or using this website. Messages are healthcare-related informational communications from or on behalf of the healthcare organization identified in the message or program context.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out and obtaining help

Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. Reasonable opt-out requests communicated through other supported channels must also be honored.

After an opt-out, the participating healthcare organization must obtain renewed consent through an approved process before Burse messaging resumes. A carrier’s recognition of START, UNSTOP, or a similar keyword does not necessarily restore the consent status used by Burse.

Delivery, monitoring, and emergencies

Delivery is not guaranteed and depends on carriers, devices, networks, and services. Replies are not continuously monitored. SMS is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for clinical advice or emergency care. Call 911 or the appropriate emergency service for an emergency.

Your device and mobile number

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate control of your device. Notify the participating healthcare organization if your mobile number is incorrect, has changed, or may have been reassigned to another person.

Privacy

Information associated with the messaging program is handled as described in the SMS Privacy Notice and according to the applicable relationship with the participating healthcare organization.
